Events by Brandy is looking for an Intern to work under Brandy Petereit. This unpaid internship job includes any part of the wedding day coordination. Some examples of this are ceremony site prep, wedding party line up for the ceremony, lighting candles, catering dismissal, coordinating with the DJ on the timing of dances, etc. The applicant should be organized, quick at problem-solving, handle confrontational settings well, take constructive criticism, successfully network with other vendors, and have a good attitude. The applicant must be able to make decisions and take action without direct supervision. Preferably have flexibility on weekends for weddings/events, and some weekdays free for wrap-up meetings, plus other types of meetings. Events by Brandy supports education and understands that it takes priority. If the applicant becomes an intern for the company, he or she will be added to the Events By Brandy Staff Facebook page where the intern may sign up for events they are able to assist with. It is preferred that the intern can work at least 80% of events that Events By Brandy coordinates.
Job Description
I have been an intern with Brandy for over a year now. I can honestly say that this is one of the best companies to work for! I have learned so much from Brandy and I know that I will learn so much more! When I first started at her company, I only had an interest in learning about the industry. I have no previous experience nor was I yet enrolled in the PEMC program. She took me on with enthusiasm! While this is an unpaid internship, Brandy still makes sure to take care of her girls! Any time that we are out working together she makes sure that I am introduced to new vendors to network with and she always opens new opportunities every chance that she gets. While there may not be laid out "benefits" like pay to the job, in reality, the benefits are much more significant that that. In the time that I have been working with Brandy, she has helped me expand my knowledge of coordinating events, venue functions, and I was able to secure a job at a wedding venue. The achievements that I have made at this company are endless and will undoubtedly continue as I learn more from Brandy!
